All You Need Is Love

The song “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles is known as an iconic peace anthem from 1967. The Beatles wanted to give the world a message that couldn’t be misinterpreted. It’s a clear message saying that love is everything. During a time of war and potitical uprise, this song held meaning for many people looking forward to peace and unity. On the other hand, Elvis and many others, felt that the Beatles laid the groundwork for many of the problems with young people by their “filthy unkempt appearances and suggestive music while entertaining in this country during the early and middle 1960s.” In response Bob Dylan stated, “America should put up statues to The Beatles. They helped give this country’s pride back to it.” John Lennon was admired for creating slogans to unite people. He was not afraid to create art out of propaganda, he said in an interview in 1971, ” I’m a revolutionary artists. My art is dedicated to change.”
