Original version-

Neil Diamond 1968

The originally compared to some of the newer version is very different. The newer versions are more upbeat and Reggie feel. This is more of a love song.

Tony Tribe 1969

This version is little bit more upbeat and this were the Reggie come in to play.

UB40 1983

This is an upbeat Reggie version that is more of a fun version vs the originally sad and slow version.

Of the three versions I really like the UB40 version. I like the snap it has and the fast rhythm. In the original I can tell it is about a woman breaking his heart. He talks about how he needs to keep the red wine close to him. This song has more meaning to Neil Diamond than UB40 in my opinion. Some of the meaning is lost in the UB40 but it geared towards younger listeners.

I hope you have enjoyed reading and watching my post thank you
